Switch from Windows to Your product
Windows 10 ESU for business PCs: a change is due. You can stay on Windows. If you would rather leave, here is how to move to Your product.
What changes at Windows
Businesses pay for Windows 10 Extended Security Updates one year at a time. Microsoft says the price doubles every year, for up to three years. Joining late means you also pay for the years you missed.
- Price for Year One: $61 per device (Microsoft)
- Later years: The price doubles every year, for at most three years (Microsoft)
- Year One started: November 2025 (Microsoft)
- Joining in Year Two: You must also pay for Year One, because ESU is cumulative (Microsoft)
- How it is sold: By the year only; no shorter periods (Microsoft)
- How long: Up to three years after Windows 10 support ended (Microsoft)
- Windows 10 support ended: October 14, 2025 (Microsoft)
- Microsoft's suggested next step: Move eligible PCs to Windows 11 with Windows Autopatch or Intune (Microsoft)
- Included at no extra cost: Windows 10 on Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop and Azure virtual machines (Microsoft)
- If you do nothing: Windows 10 PCs keep working, but get no security fixes (Microsoft)
- Businesses that keep Windows 10 PCs: Pay for each ESU year; each year costs more (Microsoft)
You can stay on Windows if you make the change. This page is for people who would rather leave.
